Alaska National Parks and Protected areas

The vast and pristine Alaskan wilderness is a dream destination for anyone who loves the outdoors. Alaska's National Parks, Forests, and monuments are some of the most unique and breathtaking in the whole country. Visiting Alaskan National Parks gives one a sense of why Alaska is so frequently referred to as the last frontier.

Chugach state park is one of most beautiful regions in Alaska. Massive tidewater glaciers dot the coastlines of the park, jutting hundreds and thousands of feet out of the sea. Whale watching, fishing and kayaking are also very popular. The landscape is ideal for Alaska glacier cruises, as well as Alaska kayaking.

The Tongass National Forest is the largest National Forest in the country. Comprised of nearly 17 million acres, the forest stretches across most of Southeast Alaska. Wildlife viewing is especially good in the forest, as are hiking and beach combing activities.

Admiralty Island National Monument is a hot bed for bird watchers and kayakers alike. The diversity of the Island 's wildlife coupled with its remote location make it an ideal vacation getaway destination.

Misty Fiords National Monument is another popular Alaskan cruise destination. The monument is surrounded by breathtaking mountains and vast collections of wildlife.
